TROOP PHOTO ALBUM

During the spring of 1943 this photo was taken in the old Scout Room in St. Mary's School. It later became the Nurse's Room in St. Mary's School, then a teacher's lounge, and is now the teachers lounge in LaSalle Academy primary campus. The photo shows Cubs and Scouts celebrating with the leaders toward the doorway, who are congratulating Emeryk Zenty, a menber of Troop 21 who earned Eagle and then became an assistant cubmaster. Later that year he entered into military service in World War II. We are grateful to Paul Babinski and Gerry Babinski, a son and grandson (respectively) of our Pack's first Cubmaster John Babinski, for a scan of this photo. Mr Babinski is seated near the door, below the fellow eating an apple. The youth in the lower right corner eating an apple is Paul Babinski, and Mr Zenty is seated left of Mr. Babinski in the photo. Note the Troop 24 sign in the upper right corner and the US War Bond posters on the back wall.
