1929 Bell Mt. Patrol Hike
Thanks to the generosity of Mrs. Florence Wiercinski we have this scan of a picture from the early days of our troop. We believe this picture was taken in the early summer of 1929. It shows a patrol hike to the Bell Mountain ridge above where the old Cold Springs was located (where Wegmans is now). The ridge now has power lines overhead, but otherwise hasn't changed much since the picture was taken. So far we've identified four people in the picture. The three seated scouts are, L-R, Edward Rudalewicz, Stanislaus Kolucki, and Clarence Matylewicz. Stanislaus Kolucki is Mrs. Wiercinski's brother, who eventually became Fr. Kolucki. The fellow at the top looking toward the left is Chester Golinski, our first Scoutmaster.
