LOST AND FOUND If anyone lost a ring at the Bernardine Sisters dinner last Sunday at Genetti Manor please call the parish office to identify it. Also found was a pair of children's sunglasses.

THE BERNARDINE SISTERS COMMEMORATION

Last Sunday's Mass and dinner in honor of the Sisters was a wonderful event. Thank you to everyone who took part in the planning, participated in the Mass and attended the dinner. As a lasting tribute to all the Bernardine Sisters of St. Mary's, the parish has dedicated the clearstory window of Blessed Bronislawa in their honor. In addition, a financial contribution has been made to the Bernardines' retirement fund.

In trying to decide which window would be dedicated, it was decided that Blessed Bronislawa, being a native of Poland and a Norbertine sister would be the best choice. As it turns out, in 1916, the first principal of our school was Sr. M. Bronislawa making that window a fitting choice.

These things no matter how meaningful are but a small token of the great appreciation that we have for all the sisters who served here. Sisters Carmencita and LeRoy will be with us until mid August. Keep them and all the sisters in your thoughts and prayers.

ALTAR SERVERS NEEDED If you will be in fourth grade or higher in the next school year and would like to become an altar server, please call the parish office. We will be scheduling a training session in the near future. Serving at the table of the Lord, it's a wonderful way to serve God.

ADULT ALTAR SERVERS are needed!!! If you would like to become an adult altar server who assists at funerals, please call the parish office. No prior experience is needed. If you are available five days a week or one day a month you can be a great help to this invaluable ministry. You can choose the days you are available to serve. What a meaningful way to lend comfort to those in their time of need.

EXTRAORDINARY MINISTERS OF THE EUCHARIST We are in need of people to serve in this very important ministry. If you would like to learn more about being an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist, please call the parish office. We especially need people for the 9:30 and 11:00 a.m. Masses on Sunday. If you regularly attend one of these Masses and feel that you would like to serve, let us know. Training sessions will be available in the near future.

THANK YOU!!! To all Saint Mary's parishioners: The Morris Family would like to thank the entire parish community for all your monetary contributions, cards with words of encouragement and most importantly your prayers during our challenging days since the car accident. Thankfully, because of your prayers our family continues to heal.
Ralph, Margie, Ralphie, Matthew & Krista Morris

LITURGY OF REMEMBRANCE

Many families living in the Diocese of Scranton are suffering from the loss of a loved one due to violent and tragic death. Our Savior, Jesus Christ, calls us to reach out to our brothers and sisters who have endured such tragic circumstances.

With this in mind, the Diocese of Scranton is offering the annual "Liturgy of Remembrance" for persons who have died through murder, suicide, or accidental death. The Mass is a way for families to remember and celebrate the lives of these victims, and call for an end to violence in our society.

The "Liturgy of Remembrance" is scheduled for Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at Saint Peter's Cathedral, 315 Wyoming Avenue, Scranton. All persons in our parish or your local community who have lost a loved one through tragic and traumatic death - especially murder, suicide, and accident - are invited to come to this liturgy.

We ask that the names of the deceased loved ones be registered with the parish office by June 19, 2008. You may call or stop in the parish office.
